Fairy tale princess ballgown & matching sheer swing coat from the 50s. No tags, but the outer layer appears to be chiffon or organza with blue watercolor style hydrangeas. Dress is lined in white satin acetate. Between the lining & the chiffon, there is a full layer of white tulle that froths out the skirt, 50's cupcake style! (See 2nd to last photo.)Fitted bodice has a scoop neck front and back, piped with pink satin. There is a shelf band below the bust, also of pink satin. Full skirt (and tulle) is gathered on at the waist. The skirt is below knee to mid calf length. 15" metal zipper in back. Condition is good to very good: The satin has faded from lavender to pink, you can see both colors on the band, (pretty!). No rips or holes. Seams are frayed & some were resewn. A petticoat was used in the photos and is not included. Accompanying sheer swing coat has an open front and is a few inches longer than the dress. The sleeve are short with wide triangular fold back cuffs, very striking! There are some issues: 5 tiny holes on the coat and a faint pink mark near the hem, see last photo. Authentic rockabilly, pin up glamour in this romantic dress set! Would make an unforgetable wedding dress too!
