The Gay Parade is a 1999 concept album by the band of Montreal and their third full-length release. Allmusic reviewer Jason Ankeny referred to it as "indie pop's very own Sgt. Pepper." Drummer and bassist Derek Almstead described it as a collection of character studies, comparable to the Kinks' 1968 album The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society.
The album features the first cover designed by lead vocalist Kevin Barnes' brother David, who has since created artwork for nearly every subsequent of Montreal album.
